How to apply for housing

All returning students are required to tell us their housing plans for next year via the Housing Intent form in eRezLife (you can activate your account or login below). You have four options on the intent form: plan to live on-campus, plan to apply for an exemption, plan to live at Gables Brookhaven, or that you have completed the three-year residency requirement.

For those that plan to live on-campus:

Priority Housing Selection for fall takes place in April within the eRezLife system. After that, housing selection is on a first-come, first-served basis through early May. In order to be eligible for Priority Housing Selection, you must be registered for 12+ credit hours for the fall semester and have completed your Housing Intent form by April 15. More information about roommate selection, times, and process are available on the Get Ready page and in email communications from Residence Life as we near selection.

For those pursuing an exemption from residency:

You must complete the Exemption Request form in addition to the Housing Intent form. This form is also in eRezLife. Exemptions are granted for students who are 22+ years of age, live with a parent or guardian within 25 miles of the University, or are married. Decisions about exemption requests may take up to two weeks.

For those planning to live at Gables Brookhaven:

Proof of residency at Gables (i.e. a lease) will need to be submitted to Residence Life no later than July 15. Failure to provide this proof will result in automatic placement in on-campus housing wherever space permits. Residents living at Gables Brookhaven to fulfill their residency requirement will be required to purchase the Gables Meal Plan – a 150 block meal plan that can be used at the dining hall or coffee shop on campus.

For those that have completed their residency requirement:

Please include your housing plans on your intent form for our records.

Visit our Get Ready page to see all information about class registration and housing selection.
